Lois Gold has 25 years of experience as
a therapist and has a background in family systems as well
as pyschodynamic theory. She studied for many years with Virginia
Satir, a pioneer in the field of family therapy and humanistic
psychology, and was invited to join Virginia Satir Avanta
network of trainers. She taught a mediation course for five
years at Portland State School of Social Work, which also
focused on the psychology of troubled marriages, divorce dynamics,
and the developmental needs of children. She has extensive
training in marital therapy, Ericksonian hypnosis, gestalt
therapy and brief solution-oriented therapies. Following a
long-standing interest in cross-cultural healing, she recently
completed a three year advanced program in shamanic healing
sponsored by the Foundation
for Shamanic Studies, and is available for shamanic work,
including soul retrieval healings. Her third book, in progress,
titled Bridging Differences, is about understanding and working
with differences and resolving conflict in intimate relationships.
She has led workshops and presented professional
seminars in the areas of couple's communication and enrichment,
woman's issues, conflict resolution, dealing with difficult
people in the workplace, divorce and parenting, grief and
healing, and shamanism. She is available to design workshops
or in-service training upon request.
